Children and young people placed with us come from all kinds of backgrounds and are usually confused, scared, angry and feel let down.

Make no mistake that fostering can be challenging but it is also very rewarding and makes a real difference to children’s lives. Here are just some quotes we’ve been sent by the children and young people in our care:

  • They care about me; they are the best foster carers in the world as they have changed my life to a better one.
  • I love it because we get lots of hugs and kisses.
  • People are a lot happier in this house.
  • This house is amazing.
  • I like living here because of all the pets, the fun days out. Also there’s always something to learn here.

If you are interested in becoming a foster carer with Kindercare Fostering, we would be delighted to talk to you and tell you more about what’s involved. We hold regular information events throughout Northern Ireland where you would have the opportunity to come and meet the team and have the opportunity to sit down and talk through what fostering is all about. Often some of our Foster Carers attend these events too, they can often be the best people to talk to about fostering, and they love to welcome potential carers to the group.

If you can’t make it to us, then one of our team will come and visit you and your family at home to answer any questions and talk to you about the process of becoming a foster carer.

We are often asked ‘can I become a foster carer?’. If you have the time, space, patience and a good sense of humour, then fostering could be for you. If you have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like to know more, visit our Contact Us page and complete the enquiry form, email, or, call us on 028 90 020 247. We will then contact you to explain a bit more about our agency, what fostering involves and guide you through the process step by step.

Kindercare is an amazing agency who promote, enable and support to bring the best out in their carers. Nothing is too small or too big for any of the social workers to deal with, every child matters whether it be looked after children or birth children.

At Kindercare we are part of a big family where everyone is set up to succeed.
