Why did you become a foster carer and how long have you been fostering?
I’ve always wanted to be a part of helping children who don’t have a suitable place to live.
I have been fostering for 5 and a half years.
What’s been your biggest challenge since you began fostering?
There are of course challenges with the children and young people that you look after, but the foster care system itself can be challenging. I think that was something I hadn’t expected as much.
What’s your favourite thing about fostering?
Seeing children thrive through love and security.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a foster carer?
Do your homework to be sure that you are making the right decision, but we have found it incredibly fulfilling and rewarding. Not only for ourselves but for our birth children too!
