The National Fostering Agency (NFA) Group is the largest independent provider of high quality foster care and special needs education and care. We partner closely with Local Authorities and UK foster carers to create the best possible opportunities and outcomes for child fostering. Now with Acorn Care and Education a part of the NFA family we provide special needs education and care across 17 schools and 17 residential care homes nationally.

As the largest Independent Fostering Agency we have set up a new Foster Carer assessment function and are looking for highly skilled practitioners to manage and co-ordinate a team of assessors, to ensure the approval of high quality Foster Carers, whilst ensuring Fostering Regulations, national minimum standards and regulatory requirements are met.

To manage assessment ‘carer journey’ of applicants, as allocated to the National Assessment Service, on receipt of positive initial visits through to panel approval if the assessment is successful. In addition the post holder will work with the Head of the National Assessment Service (based in our Bolton office) and Leading Assessment Managers to develop a pool of suitable freelance assessors, allocate assessments to assessors, supervise their work whilst promoting and ensuring that NFA  Group provides quality, professional services for local authorities placing children and young people.

You will be an experienced Social Worker with assessment and report writing skills and capabilities and be able to demonstrate assessment and report writing skills.   You will possess excellent knowledge of relevant policies, regulation and legislation.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be computer literate, with a current driving licence as this role will require some travel.

You will cover our north west region and you will be based at one of our offices in Bolton, Warrington, St Helens, Liverpool or Burnley.

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Form F Writing experience
  • Happy to travel
  • Ability to work independently

Desirable Criteria

  • Form F quality assurance experience
  • Management experience
